Story
Gemma Solari and Gabriele Rum, married in 1986 and have three children: Gaia ('89), Tommaso ('91) and little Giulia (2000).
Born and resident on the Island of Giglio where they look after many businesses within the tourst sector (hotel and navigation company) – the Maregiglio, of which Gabriele is the only administrator.
Their love for Tuscany and their passion for hospitality, has pushed them to open this small resort in the heart of the Maremma.
Finished in particular detail by themselves.
The building has a country look, with typical Tuscany art style interiors.
Wall paintings which embellish each bedroom are the work of Carlo Consoli, a painter from Arezzo, who inherited this artistic style from his father, which represents the soul of Tuscany art.
Gemma directs the management of the resort personally, while Gabriele takes care of the administration and direction of the Monticello Castle hotel which is situated on the Island of Giglio.
Staying at the Melosa, you will immediately feel the sensation of being a special guest, totally at ease, breathing a familiar air and feeling the pleasure of cooperation offered by the trained personnel.

There are two rooms for smokers, Melosa and Mirtillo.
La Melosa restaurant
In the classic setting of the Maremma countryside the La Melosa restaurant is a cosy, welcoming and exclusively refined environment that offers food lovers the opportunity to explore the classic flavours of Tuscan cuisine and rediscover the taste of high quality seasonal products.
Thirty places inside and another fifteen on the closed terrace overlooking the wood guarantee a limited number of guests to taste particular and traditional dishes that have often been lost in past time.
The La Melosa restaurant offers its customers exclusively fresh seasonal products and in order to guarantee a superior quality, a menu that changes every month in harmony with the fruits of the field. |
