Today The Antico Podere di Pomaio is the result of centuries of history interwoven with culture and genuine Tuscan farming traditions.
The estate produces organic olive oil, honey, saffron, fruit and vegetables, on 23 hectares, at an average altitude of 400 metres.
The farm house and barns have been recently lovingly restored taking great care to maintain the original terracotta floors and beamed ceilings that are so characteristic of rural Tuscany.
Laying in the heart of the estate, the farm house offers warm hospitality and comfortable accommodation, while preserving the atmosphere of a country Tuscan farm house.
The farm faces south west and the weather is fresh and sunny in the summer and mild in the autumn and spring. The winter months of January and February are cold but usually dry and sunny, ideal for sight seeing and making full use of the cosy open log fires.
The Estate is only 6km from the historical centre of Arezzo, a magnificent ancient city of Etruscan origin, home to such famous artists as Vasari, Petrarca, Michelangelo and Masaccio.
From Arezzo within easy reach are Florence, Siena and Perugia, some of the most beautiful cities in central Italy. Other smaller but equally charming centres are Cortona, of Etruscan origin, Monte S. Savino ,Lucignano, Sansepolcro, Anghiari, Pienza , la Val dOrcia, Assisi and Gubbio.
From the endless itineraries you have to discover, don’t miss the ‘Strade del vino’ a unique opportunity to sample the typical products, dishes and D.O.C. Tuscan wines.
"La Botteghina" is our own shop where you can sample and buy our home grown fruits. With great care we prepare our products on the premises next to the shop.
The extra virgin olive oil, honey and saffron, which the ‘Antico Podere di Pomaio offers is produced using only natural organic methods. These are available to our guests.

Il Pomaio The Cottage
Type: Indipendent House
Surrounded by the countryside, at an altitude of 500 metres, facing the valley and the city of Arezzo.
The structure which is on two floors comprises of 250sq metres. It has five double bedrooms with full facilities and sleeps a total of 12 people.
The day room comprises of a living room, kitchen dining room and a wood burning stove.
The garden surrounds the house with a swimming pool for the exclusive use of the guests.
The cottage can either accommodate a large family or be divided into smaller apartments.
Either way, privacy is guaranteed by the numerous independent entrances. |

This apartment is ideal for two people. On the ground floor there is a dining room with a kitchenette and above it there is a double bedroom plus bathroom.
Splendid views of Arezzo and the valley can be seen from the two large arched windows. The open fireplace and rustic Tuscan stonework create a particularly warm and romantic atmosphere. |

This is an ideal apartment to accommodate four people. Located on two levels it is joined by a stone staircase.

This is a very spacious apartment, located on two levels. A double bedroom with bathroom is situated on the top floor. There is an annex adjacent to the main bedroom, providing a sofa bed, which sleeps two. The ground floor comprises of a living/dining-room area and a fully equipped kitchen. This room also offers a SAT-TV. |

The ‘Nido’ is a double bedroom with its own entrance, situated above the cottage.
There are two independent entrances leading to a lawn and a sun terrace, which faces the valley. Inside, the fireplace and the warm coloured hand- made brickwork render the ‘Nest’ particularly cosy. |

This is a double bedroom with bath, situated on the ground floor of the cottage.
Stone, beams and brickwork are the elements in strong evidence of the Tuscan style. La Poiana is simple and rustic at the same time. This bedroom has an independent entrance which gives it private access while remaining attached to the cottage. |
